Troubleshooting: My Samsung TV went offline

If your Samsung TV is showing as offline or is not performing as expected, here are a few things you can try to fix the issue.

Note: Performance may vary depending on your Wi-Fi network conditions. For optimal performance, connect your Samsung TV to the internet using an Ethernet cable.

  • Verify that your Samsung TV is connected to the network
    1. Press the Home button on the TV remote
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select Network
    4. Select Network Status
    5. Wait a few seconds to see the network status
  • Verify that the LED on the SmartThings Hub v2 is solid green (which indicates that the Hub is online and communicating with our servers)
  • Reboot the SmartThings Hub v2 by pressing the red recessed button on the back and wait a few minutes for the LED to turn green
  • Reboot the Samsung TV by unplugging the power and Ethernet cables for 30 seconds and plug them back in
  • Power cycle the router by unplugging the power cable for 30 seconds and plugging it back in
  • Plug the Ethernet cord into a different port on the router or directly into the modem. The Ethernet cable may also be defective. Swap it out for another shielded model
  • Remove and reconnect the Samsung TV to the SmartThings Hub
    1. In the SmartThings mobile app, tap My Home My_Home.png
    2. Under Things, select the TV
    3. Tap the gear icon
    4. Tap Remove
    5. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)
    6. Reconnect the TV with the steps here
