Before enabling SmartThings on your Garmin Watch, you must:
- Install the SmartThings app for Android or iOS on your phone
- Create a SmartThings account
- Set up your Hub, devices, and Routines
- Note: You can only connect one SmartThings Location to your Garmin Watch
- Pair your Garmin Watch with your phone
Enable SmartThings on the Garmin Watch
On your phone:
- In the Garmin Connect app, tap the menu in the top left
- Tap Connect IQ Store
- Enter your Garmin account credentials and tap Sign In
- Enter “SmartThings” in the search field
- Select the SmartThings app and tap Download
On your Garmin Watch:
- Navigate to the SmartThings app on the watch
- For touchscreen models, swipe up from the home screen until you find the SmartThings app. Tap to select it
- For push button models, press the up button from the home screen until you find the SmartThings app. Press the button with the running person icon to select it
- The watch will say “To complete the pairing, open the Garmin Connect Mobile App”
On your phone:
- Swipe down and tap on the IQ notification
- Enter your SmartThings email and password and tap Log in
- Choose your SmartThings Location in the From: menu
- Tap Authorize
This completes setup and your Garmin Watch will show your Location’s associated Routines, which you can trigger by tapping.
Execute SmartThings Routines on the Garmin Watch
On your Garmin Watch:
- Navigate to the SmartThings app on the watch
- For touchscreen models, swipe up from the home screen until you find the SmartThings app. Tap to select it
- For push button models, press the up button from the home screen until you find the SmartThings app. Press the button with the running person icon to select it
- Select Routines
- Select the Routine you want to run
Get text notifications on the Garmin Watch
Any SmartThings text notifications configured to go to your phone will also display on your Garmin Watch.
