How do I reset my password?

If you signed up for a Samsung account recently in the SmartThings app, follow the steps below for a Samsung account. If you signed up for a SmartThings account before May 2017, follow the steps below for a SmartThings account.

 

  • Samsung account
  • SmartThings account

 

IMPORTANT: Note that any Samsung service using your Samsung account login credentials will be impacted if you change your Samsung account password. You may need to log back in to these services with your new password.

Follow these steps to reset your password:

  1. Open the SmartThings mobile app
  2. Tap I’m a SmartThings user
  3. Enter your Samsung account ID
  4. Tap Continue
  5. Tap Forgot your ID or password? (below the email and password fields)
  6. Tap the Reset password tab, if necessary
  7. Enter the email address used when creating the Samsung account, enter the security code, and select Confirm
  8. The app will confirm that a password recovery email was sent

Then, simply follow the instructions in the email.

 

Alternatively, you can request a password reset from a browser on your mobile device or computer.

  1. Navigate to account.samsung.com
  2. Select Sign In in the upper right
  3. Select Forgot your ID or password
  4. Select the Reset password tab, if necessary
  5. Enter the email address used when creating the Samsung account, enter the security code, and select Confirm
  6. The site will confirm that a password recovery email was sent

Then, simply follow the instructions in the email.

 

Follow these steps to reset your password:

  1. Open the SmartThings mobile app
  2. Tap the I’m a SmartThings user button
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Tap Continue
  5. Tap Forgot your password? (below the email and password fields)
  6. Confirm the email address you use for your SmartThings account is entered correctly
  7. Tap Send Recovery Email
  8. The app will confirm that a password recovery email was sent

Then, simply follow the instructions in the email.
