Connect the Ring Doorbell in the SmartThings app

1. Set up a Ring account

Download and install the Ring app for iOS or Android, and then create a Ring account.

2. Setup the Ring Doorbell

Follow the Ring Doorbell user’s guide to install the doorbell and connect it to Wi-Fi.

3. Connect the Ring Doorbell through the SmartThings app

In the SmartThings mobile app:

1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Device
2. Select Ring and touch Doorbell
3. Choose a Location for the device
4. Choose a Room for the device and touch Next
5. Tap the field that says Tap here to enter your Ring credentials
6. Enter your Ring account email address and password
7. Touch Next and select Authorize
8. All Ring Doorbells associated with your Ring account will be automatically selected
   If you do not wish to add a particular Ring device to SmartThings, tap Use these Ring Devices and deselect that device
9. Tap Done to complete setup

Connect additional Ring Doorbells

Tip: If you previously connected a Ring Doorbell with SmartThings and later install another doorbell, follow these steps to set up the new doorbell with SmartThings:

1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Add device
2. Touch the down arrow to Add device manually
3. Select Doorbell and touch Ring
4. Tap Use these Ring Devices to select your new Ring devices
   Note: You will see the name of your previously connected doorbell(s)
5. Select the new doorbell(s) you wish to connect with SmartThings
6. Tap Done to complete setup
