Sprue FireAngel 10-year Thermoptek Smoke Alarm (ST-630)

The Sprue FireAngel 10-year Thermoptek Smoke Alarm (ST-630) combines the very latest in optical sensing with a thermal enhancement for complete protection from both fast flaming and slow smouldering fire types in a single alarm. Add the Z-Wave module and connect it to SmartThings to protect your home and notify you if something happens when you're not there.

Note: To connect with your SmartThings Hub, a Z-Wave module is required.

To connect the FireAngel Smoke Alarm in the SmartThings app

After installing the Smoke Alarm and connecting the Z-Wave module, follow the steps below to add the Smoke Alarm to SmartThings in the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap Add device
  2. Android: Tap Add Device Manually
  3. Select Smoke detector
  4. Tap FireAngel
  5. If you have more than one SmartThings Hub connected, select the Location you would like to add the device to, then tap Done
  6. While the Hub searches, quickly press the "add" button on the Z-Wave module three times
  7. The LED will blink steadily during inclusion, then blink three times to indicate that pairing was successful
  8. When the device is discovered, a message will appear that the device was successfully connected to your SmartThings Hub
  9. Tap Edit to rename the device
  10. When finished, tap Done
  11. Tap Done again to confirm

 

To exclude the FireAngel Smoke Alarm

If the FireAngel Smoke Alarm was not discovered, you may need to reset, or “exclude,” the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do this in the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap on the Devices tab
  2. Tap the Hub
  3. Tap the three dots in the top right
  4. Tap Z-Wave exclusion
  5. When prompted:
    1. Quickly press the "add" button on the Z-Wave module three times
    2. The LED will blink steadily during exclusion, then blink three times to indicate that removal was successful

After the app indicates that the device was successfully removed from SmartThings, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the device.

 

To remove the FireAngel Smoke Alarm from SmartThings

If the FireAngel Smoke Alarm is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap on the Devices tab
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right
  3. Tap Edit
  4. Tap the red minus icon (-) next to the name of the device
  5. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)
  6. When prompted, perform the exclusion procedure to remove the device from the mobile app and from the SmartThings Hub
