Utilitech Wireless Indoor Siren

The Utilitech Wireless Indoor Siren (TSE07-1) can alert you to unexpected entry or potential hazards in your home, with SmartThings. With Smart Home Monitor, you can trigger your siren to sound with your SmartThings sensors for motion, doors opening, leaks, smoke, and more.

To connect the Utilitech Siren with the SmartThings Hub

Note: the Utilitech Wireless Indoor Siren is supported in the US.

In the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap Add device
  2. Android: Tap Add Device Manually
  3. Select Siren
  4. Tap Utilitech
  5. If you have more than one SmartThings Hub connected, select the Hub you would like to add the device to, then tap Done
  6. While the Hub searches, press the pair button next to the batteries once
  7. When the device is discovered, a message will appear that the device was successfully connected to your SmartThings Hub
  8. Tap Edit to rename the device
  9. When finished, tap Done
  10. Tap Done again to confirm

 

To reset the Utilitech Siren

If the Utilitech Siren was not detected, you may need to reset, or “exclude,” the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do so in the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap on the Devices tab
  2. Tap the Hub
  3. Tap the three dots in the top right
  4. Tap Z-Wave exclusion
  5. When prompted, press the pair button next to the batteries once

When the app indicates that the device was successfully removed from SmartThings, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Utilitech Siren.

 

To remove the Utilitech Siren from SmartThings

If the Utilitech Siren is connected but not performing as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap on the Devices tab
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right
  3. Tap Edit
  4. Tap the red minus icon (-) next to the name of the device
  5. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)
  6. When prompted, perform the exclusion procedure to remove the device from the mobile app and from the SmartThings Hub

 

To connect the Utilitech Siren with the SmartThings Hub

In the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. While the Hub searches, press the pair button next to the batteries once
  5. When the device is discovered, it will be listed at the top of the screen
  6. Tap the device to rename it and tap Done
  7. When finished, tap Save
  8. Tap Ok to confirm

 

To reset the Utilitech Siren

If the Utilitech Siren was not detected, you may need to reset, or “exclude,” the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do so in the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap the menu (Android) / More (iOS)
  2. Tap the Hub
  3. Tap Z-Wave Utilities
  4. Tap General Device Exclusion
  5. When prompted, press the pair button next to the batteries once

When the app indicates that the device was successfully removed from SmartThings, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Utilitech Siren.

 

To remove the Utilitech Siren from SmartThings

If the Utilitech Siren is connected but not performing as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Select the device
  4. Tap the gear icon
  5. Tap Remove
  6. Confirm removal
  7. When prompted, perform the exclusion procedure to remove the device from the mobile app and from the SmartThings Hub
