Eaton Halo LED Downlight

The Eaton Halo LED Downlight is a dimmable ZigBee wirelessly controlled retrofit downlight fixture. With the Eaton Halo Downlight and SmartThings, you can automate your light to dim or change color temperature at sunrise or sunset or even when other events happen in your home.

When receiving power, this device will act as a signal repeater to extend the range of your ZigBee mesh network.

To connect the Eaton Halo LED Downlight in the SmartThings app

First, install the Eaton Halo LED Downlight in a lamp or light fixture. The switch to the lamp or fixture should remain OFF at this time.

Then, in the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap Add device
  2. Android: Tap Add Device Manually
  3. Select Light bulb
  4. Tap Eaton Halo
  5. If you have more than one SmartThings Hub connected, select the Location you would like to add the device to, then tap Done
  6. While the Hub searches, turn ON the downlight with the wall switch
    • The downlight will flash twice to indicate it’s in pairing mode and then once again when successfully paired
  7. When the device is discovered, a message will appear that the device was successfully connected to your SmartThings Hub
  8. Tap Edit to rename the device
  9. When finished, tap Done
  10. Tap Done again to confirm

 

To reset the Eaton Halo LED Downlight

If the Eaton Halo Downlight was not discovered, you may need to reset the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub.

  1. Using the wall switch, switch the downlight ON and OFF 6 times within 2 seconds
    • The downlight will flash twice after a successful reset and ready to pair
  2. From the Dashboard in the SmartThings app, tap Add device
  3. Android: Tap Add Device Manually
  4. Select Light bulb
  5. Tap Eaton Halo
  6. The Hub should automatically discover the downlight within a few moments

 

To remove the Eaton Halo LED Downlight from SmartThings

If the Eaton Halo LED Downlight is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to reset the device and/or remove and reconnect the device with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap on the Devices tab
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right
  3. Tap Edit
  4. Tap the red minus icon (-) next to the name of the device
  5. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)

 

To connect the Eaton Halo LED Downlight in the SmartThings Classic app

First, install the Eaton Halo LED Downlight in a lamp or light fixture. The switch to the lamp or fixture should remain OFF at this time.

Then, in the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. While the Hub searches, turn ON the downlight with the wall switch
    • The downlight will flash twice to indicate it’s in pairing mode and then once again when successfully paired
  5. When the device is discovered, it will be listed at the top of the screen
  6. Tap the device to rename it and tap Done
  7. When finished, tap Save
  8. Tap Ok to confirm

 

To reset the Eaton Halo LED Downlight

If the Eaton Halo Downlight was not discovered, you may need to reset the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub.

  1. Using the wall switch, switch the downlight ON and OFF 6 times within 2 seconds
    • The downlight will flash twice after a successful reset and ready to pair
  2. Now back in the SmartThings Classic app, under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. The Hub should automatically discover the downlight within a few moments

 

To remove the Eaton Halo LED Downlight from SmartThings
