How it works

When you add SmartThings Link to your NVIDIA SHIELD, it works as a SmartThings Hub and turns into the brain of your smart home. It connects wirelessly with a wide range of smart devices and make them work together.

Get the SmartThings Link, plug it into the back of your NVIDIA SHIELD and add smart devices such as lights, cameras, locks, thermostats, sensors, and more to build your own smart home.

Note: If you do not have the SmartThings Link, the NVIDIA SHIELD will only work with certain compatible LAN and cloud-to-cloud devices. To unlock the full potential of your NVIDIA SHIELD and connect with the full range of Works With SmartThings devices, you need the SmartThings Link which includes both ZigBee and Z-Wave radios.

Getting Started

First, set up your NVIDIA SHIELD by following the instructions that came with your product.

Next, insert the SmartThings Link directly into the USB port on the back of the NVIDIA SHIELD using the provided USB extension cord. It is not recommended to plug the SmartThings Link into a USB hub.

Then, on your TV, go to the Google Play store and download and install the SmartThings for NVIDIA SHIELD app.
