Arming from the ADT Security Hub panel

On the ADT Security Hub panel, tap the button with the square icon to view the home screen.

Press the Arm Stay button.

  • Use this option when people or large pets will remain in the house. This will arm all ADT Door and Window Detectors, but will not arm any ADT Motion Detectors. The alarm will be activated if a protected door or window is opened

OR

Press the Arm Away button.

  • Use this option to arm the system when everyone leaves the house. This will arm all ADT Door and Window Detectors and all ADT Motion Detectors. The alarm will be activated if a protected door or window is opened, or if motion is detected

Pressing the Arm Stay OR Arm Away button will both start a 60-second exit delay countdown. This will give you enough time to leave the house before the system is armed.

You will also have the option to press the Silence button to silence the countdown.

Cancel arming the system

To cancel the countdown and leave the system unarmed, press the Disarm button.

Bypass sensors to arm

If you try to arm the system while protected doors and windows are still open, the ADT Security Hub will display a list of sensors that are not ready to be armed.

You can either:

    OR
  • Press the Bypass All button and enter your user code

Note: Bypassed sensors do not protect doors or windows and will not activate the alarm siren, notify ADT, or send an alert to your smartphone in the event of an intrusion. Bypassed sensors revert to normal operation when the alarm system is next armed.

Homes protected by ADT Professional Monitoring Services

If you’re enrolled in ADT Professional Monitoring Services and an intrusion is detected, ADT will start by calling the primary phone number on your account to ensure that you are safe. ADT will ask for your Personal Identification Code (PIC) or verbal password in order to prevent the police from being notified. If no one answers or the PIC cannot be provided, ADT will then contact any Enhance Verification Contacts. If no one is reached who can provide the PIC or verbal password, the police will be notified of the alarm siren, and all remaining contacts on your contact list will be called automatically.

Your system has a brief grace period to allow you to disarm the system before an ADT representative is notified. If you enter your code into the ADT Panel before the police are notified, an automated call will be placed to make sure that you are okay and, if necessary, provide further assistance.

*You can learn how to designate your Door and Window Detectors as common entry/exit points or as a perimeter here.

Advanced intrusion detection to reduce false alarms

If an ADT detector activates the alarm siren more than once during a single arming session, that detector will be bypassed for the next 8 hours or until the system is manually re-armed. This helps to reduce false alarms caused by doors or windows repeatedly swinging open and closed. Bypassed sensors do not activate the alarm siren, notify ADT, or send an alert to your smartphone in the event of an intrusion.

Tamper alerts

ADT devices can send tamper alerts to the ADT Security Hub. A tamper alert will occur when a device is altered or manipulated. Tamper alerts for the ADT Door and Window Detector and ADT Motion Detector will act in the same way as an intrusion alert.

If you have an ADT professional monitoring service activated, and a monitored device is tampered with when the system is armed, the alarm siren will be activated for 4 minutes or until the system is disarmed. As soon as the alarm siren is activated, ADT will be notified and an operator will respond according to the terms of your monitoring service.

If the system is disarmed, devices that have been tampered with will require a bypass to arm the system. Bypassed sensors will not activate the alarm siren, notify ADT, or send an alert to your smartphone in the event of an intrusion. Bypassed sensors revert to normal operation when the alarm system is next armed.
