SmartSense Presence Sensor

Note: This article applies to the SmartSense Presence Sensor. Troubleshooting steps for the Samsung SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model) are available at the previous link. Or, go here for information about the new Samsung SmartThings Arrival Sensor.

The SmartSense Presence Sensor is a keychain-sized ZigBee device that tracks the comings and goings of loved ones, pets, cars—anything that can carry it. The SmartSense Presence Sensor will register when it is moved in and out of range of the SmartThings Hub. This means you can receive notifications and do all sorts of other things based on the sensor's location.

Place the SmartSense Presence Sensor in your car to receive alerts when the vehicle leaves or returns. Put it on a pet’s collar to get notified if he ventures away from the yard (bad dog!) or goes on a walk with the dog walker. Automatically turn on the lights when you enter your house, or turn off the TV when you leave. Although the SmartSense Presence Sensor can be used outside, it should not be exposed to moisture.

Note: The Samsung SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model) has the same functionality, capabilities, and reset steps as the SmartSense Presence Sensor.
