The Samsung SmartThings Arrival Sensor requires a CR2032 coin cell battery. Follow these steps if your sensor's battery needs to be replaced.
Removing the battery (Gen 2, Samsung SmartThings Arrival Sensor):
- Insert a small flathead screwdriver into the groove at the base of the Presence tag
- Gently twist the screwdriver. The plastic case should pop open
- Remove the circuit board from the case
- Hold the circuit board steady with one hand while sliding the flathead screwdriver underneath the battery until it pops out. Watch the video below for a demonstration
Removing the battery (Gen 1):
- Remove the rubber ring
- Using a small flathead screwdriver, push in the tab on the bottom of the Presence tag. The plastic case should pop open
- Remove the circuit board from the case
- Hold the circuit board steady with one hand while sliding the flathead screwdriver underneath the battery until it pops out. Check out the video below for a look at how it's done
Replacing the battery:
- Slide the battery under the metal clamp and gently snap it into place
- Place the circuit board back into the case, lining up the battery with the circular indent
- Snap the case back together. If you have a Gen 1 Presence Sensor, also replace the rubber ring
