Schlage Camelot and Century Touchscreen Deadbolts (BE469NX)

Few things put a damper on a vacation more than worry over whether you remembered to lock the front door behind you. But with the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt and SmartThings, you can check whether your door is locked or unlocked, lock or unlock it remotely, and set up automations for when the door should be secured—all from your phone.

The Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt can also be opened manually via its sleek touchscreen. No need to fumble with your keys again. Set the deadbolt to automatically lock up when you leave for an added level of security and convenience.

Note: It is recommended to connect your lock with your SmartThings Hub before installing it on the door.

 

 

This article will tell you how to connect the following Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolts with the SmartThings Hub:

 

  • SmartThings app
  • SmartThings Classic app

Connect the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt in the SmartThings app

Note: The Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt is supported in the US.

In the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Add device
  2. Select Schlage and touch Lock
  3. Choose a Hub for the device and touch Next
  4. Choose a Room for the device and touch Next
  5. While the Hub searches:
    1. Press the Schlage button
    2. Enter 6 digit programming code
    3. Press 0

 

To reset the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt

If the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt was not detected, you may need to reset, or “exclude,” the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do this in the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Menu (Menu icon), and select Devices
  2. Touch the Hub and select More Options (More Options menu icon)
  3. Touch Z-Wave utilities and select Z-Wave exclusion
  4. Press the Schlage button
  5. Enter 6 digit programming code
  6. Press 0

When the app indicates that the device was successfully removed from SmartThings, follow the instructions above to connect the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt.

 

Connect the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt in the SmartThings Classic app

In the SmartThings Classic mobile app:

  1. Touch My Home
  2. Under Things, touch Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. While the Hub searches, bring the lock within 10 feet of the Hub, then:
    1. Press the Schlage button on the lock
    2. Enter your 6-digit programming code
    3. Press 0
  5. When the device is discovered, it will be listed at the top of the screen
  6. Touch the device to rename it and touch Done
  7. When finished, touch Save
  8. Touch Ok to confirm

 

To reset the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt

If the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt was not discovered, you may need to reset, or “exclude,” the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do this in the SmartThings Classic mobile app:

  1. Touch the menu (Android) / More (iOS)
  2. Touch the Hub
  3. Touch Z-Wave Utilities
  4. Touch General Device Exclusion
  5. When prompted, follow the lock’s removal process:
    1. Press the Schlage button on the lock
    2. Enter your 6-digit programming code
    3. Press 0

After the app indicates that the device was successfully removed from SmartThings, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt.
