Jawbone UP24

Note: The Jawbone UP24 is part of SmartThings Labs and has not been officially tested and certified to Work with SmartThings. You can connect it to your SmartThings home, but performance may vary and we will not be able to provide support or assistance.

The Jawbone UP24 is a biometric monitoring device and activity tracker. The UP24 tracks steps, exercise, calories burned, hours slept, and quality of sleep, giving you the information and motivation you need to live better.

This activity tracker can be used with SmartThings to automate events around your physical activity and behavior, like triggering the lights to turn off when you're asleep or turning on the coffee pot when you wake up.

 

 

To connect the Jawbone UP24 with SmartThings

First, set up your Jawbone UP24 through the Jawbone iOS or Android app.

Second, in the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Under Things, tap SmartThings Labs
  3. Tap Jawbone UP (Labs)
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. Tap Jawbone UP
  6. Enter your Jawbone credentials (username and password)
  7. Tap Sign In
  8. Tap Authorize to allow SmartThings to access your Jawbone account
  9. Tap Done when your Jawbone account is connected to SmartThings
  10. Tap Done again

 

To use and configure Jawbone devices within SmartThings

Access your Jawbone devices from the Things view within the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the device

You can also monitor your steps and get notifications with certain SmartApps. To explore and install SmartApps:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap Health & Fitness
  4. Tap the SmartApp (Sleepy Time and Step Notifier are great options for Jawbone)
  5. Tap Install

Note: The Jawbone (Connect) SmartApp will show up in the SmartApps view. Do not uninstall the Jawbone (Connect) SmartApp, or you'll have to reconnect your Jawbone UP24.

 

To remove the Jawbone UP24 from SmartThings

If the Jawbone UP24 is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Select the device
  4. Tap the gear icon
  5. Tap Edit Device
  6. Tap Remove
  7. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)
