SmartSense Open/Closed Sensor

The SmartSense Open/Closed Sensor is a ZigBee contact sensor that can be used to report when a door, window, cabinet, or drawer is opened or closed. It's also a temperature sensor!

This versatile device lets you monitor temperature for indoor zones, and it can be combined with a SmartThings-compatible switch (like the SmartPower Outlet) to automatically turn on a light when a door opens. These are just a couple of examples of the sensor's many uses.

Note: The SmartSense Open/Closed Sensor (2014 model) is different from the SmartSense Multi and the Samsung SmartThings Multipurpose Sensor—our newest contact sensor.
