Bose SoundTouch Systems

Stream music at the touch of a button with Bose® SoundTouch® speakers.

 

 

The following Bose® SoundTouch® speakers can be connected with SmartThings:

Note: The Bose® SoundTouch® SmartThings integration works with any Bose® SoundTouch® capable sound system. Also, only the SoundTouch 10, 20, and 30 (Series III) support audio notifications.

How to connect a Bose® SoundTouch® system in the SmartThings app

First, set up your Bose audio system using the included product manuals.

Next, follow the steps below to connect the system to SmartThings:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap Add device
  2. Android: Tap Add Device Manually
  3. Select Speaker
  4. Tap Bose
  5. If you have more than one SmartThings Hub connected, select the Location you would like to add the device to, then tap Done
  6. Wait a moment for the Hub to automatically discover your device
  7. When the device is discovered, a message will appear that the device was successfully connected to your SmartThings Hub
  8. Tap Edit to rename the device
  9. When finished, tap Done
  10. Tap Done again to confirm

 

How to use and configure Bose® SoundTouch® devices within SmartThings

Access your Bose® SoundTouch® devices from the Devices tab within the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap Devices
  2. Tap the device

 

How to remove Bose® SoundTouch® devices from SmartThings

If a Bose® SoundTouch® speaker is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap on the Devices tab
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right
  3. Tap Edit
  4. Tap the red minus icon (-) next to the name of the device
  5. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)

 

How to connect a Bose® SoundTouch® system in the SmartThings Classic app

First, set up your Bose audio system using the included product manuals.

Next, follow the steps below to connect the system to SmartThings:

  1. In the SmartThings Classic mobile app, tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. Wait a moment for the Hub to automatically discover your device
  5. When the device is discovered, it will be listed at the top of the screen
  6. Tap the device to rename it and tap Done
  7. When finished, tap Save
  8. Tap Ok to confirm

 

How to use and configure Bose® SoundTouch® devices within SmartThings

Access your Bose® SoundTouch® devices from the Things view within the SmartThings Classic mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the device

 

How to remove Bose® SoundTouch® devices from SmartThings Classic
