SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model)

The SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model) lets you stay connected to people, pets, and even cars by notifying you when they arrive and leave home. You can also trigger other smart devices to perform different actions when the Arrival Sensor comes in and out of the range of the SmartThings Hub: automatically turn the lights on or off, lock or unlock the front door, adjust the thermostat, and more. If you misplace your keys, the Arrival Sensor can even beep to guide you to the key ring it’s on.

With the SmartThings Arrival Sensor, you will always know when your loved ones are at home safe and sound, giving the whole family peace of mind.

Note: This model is only available in the US and the UK. The UK model name is the SmartThings Presence Sensor.

The SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model) has the same functionality, capabilities, and reset steps as the original SmartSense Presence Sensor.

How to connect the SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model) in the SmartThings

Note: In order to use the SmartThings app to control the SmartThings Arrival Sensor, a SmartThings Hub or Samsung Connect Home is required.

In the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Add device
  2. Select SmartThings and touch Presence sensor
  3. Choose a Hub for the device and touch Next
  4. Choose a Room for the device and touch Next
  5. While the Hub searches, pull the “Remove when Connecting” tab found in the sensor

 

How to reset the SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model)

If the SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model) didn't connect to the Hub when you removed the pull-tab, reset and connect the device manually. To do this:

  1. Remove the cover
  2. Hold the connect button for five (5) seconds
  3. Release the button when the LED turns off

How to connect the SmartThings Arrival Sensor (2015 model) in the SmartThings Classic app

Follow the instructions below or consult the Arrival Sensor’s Quick-Start Guide at the bottom of this article.

In the SmartThings Classic mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. While the Hub searches, pull the “Remove when Connecting” tab found in the sensor
