SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (previous generations)

Note: This article is for previous generations of the SmartThings Water Leak Sensor. If you have the newest version, you can find steps for your device here. If you're unsure about which version of the SmartThings Water Leak Sensor you own, click here.

If you have the FortrezZ Moisture Sensor (also known as the original SmartSense Moisture Sensor), you can find steps for your device here.

By placing the SmartThings Water Leak Sensor in an area of your home that is prone to water damage (such as in a basement, near a water heater, under an old pipe, or in a bathroom), you can receive an immediate alert on your smartphone at the first sign of a leak. You can also use this wireless Zigbee sensor to trigger lights or sirens to turn on and alert you when water is detected.
