Honeywell Total Connect Comfort Wi-Fi Thermostats

The Honeywell Total Connect Comfort Wi-Fi Thermostats along with SmartThings give you remote access to your thermostat so you can enjoy optimal indoor comfort and energy savings. Automate heating and cooling your home, or check humidity and indoor and outdoor temperatures from anywhere using the SmartThings app.

Any Honeywell thermostat supported in the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort app is compatible with SmartThings, including the 9000 Color Touchscreen (pictured below), VisionPRO 8000, and FocusPRO 6000 series.

Connect the Honeywell Thermostat with the SmartThings Hub

 

1. Install the Honeywell Thermostat

Follow the Honeywell Thermostat user’s guide to install the thermostat and connect it to Wi-Fi.

 

2. Set up a Honeywell account

Download and install the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort app for iOS or Android, and then create a Honeywell account.

 

3. Connect the thermostat through the SmartThings app

In the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Under Things, tap Thermostats
  3. Select your Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. Tap the field that says Click to enter Honeywell Credentials
  6. Sign in to your Honeywell Total Connect Comfort account
  7. Accept the agreement to connect your Honeywell account with SmartThings by tapping I Accept
  8. Select the thermostat(s) you wish to connect with SmartThings
  9. Tap OK
  10. Tap Done
  11. Tap Next
  12. Select the thermostat(s)
  13. Tap Done
  14. Tap Done again to complete setup

 

Connect additional Honeywell thermostats

Tip: If you previously connected a Honeywell Thermostat with SmartThings and later install another thermostat, follow these steps to set up the new thermostat with SmartThings:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Under Things, tap Thermostats
  3. Select your Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. You will see a message that says you are connected
    Note: This refers to the previously connected thermostat, not the new thermostat you are in the process of connecting
  6. Tap You are connected
  7. Sign in to your Honeywell Total Connect Comfort account
  8. Accept the agreement to connect your Honeywell account with SmartThings by tapping I Accept
  9. Select the new thermostat(s) you wish to connect with SmartThings
  10. Tap OK
  11. Tap Done
  12. Tap Next
  13. Select the thermostat(s)
  14. Tap Done
  15. Tap Done again to complete setup

 

Use and configure the Honeywell Thermostat within SmartThings

Access your thermostat from the Things view within the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the device

 

You can also automate your Honeywell Thermostat with SmartApps. To install related SmartApps:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap Climate Control
  4. Choose the SmartApp and follow its on-screen installation instructions

 

Remove the Honeywell Thermostat from SmartThings

If the Honeywell Thermostat is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove and reconnect the device in order for it to successfully integrate with your SmartThings setup.

To remove the device from the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the thermostat
  4. Tap the gear icon
  5. Tap Edit Device
  6. Tap Remove
  7. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)

 

Honeywell (Connect) SmartApp

The Honeywell (Connect) SmartApp will automatically appear in the SmartApps screen after successful connection of a Honeywell device. To access the SmartApp:

  1. Tap Automations
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap Honeywell (Connect)

 

To remove the Honeywell (Connect) SmartApp and disconnect your Honeywell thermostat(s):

  1. Tap Automations
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap Honeywell (Connect)
  4. Tap Remove
  5. Confirm removal
