How to connect Leviton ZigBee devices

Leviton ZigBee devices allow for convenient wireless control of LED, incandescent, and fluorescent lighting loads. With Leviton switches and SmartThings, you can schedule and automate your lights to turn on or off when you leave home, when there's motion in the hallway, when the sun sets, and so much more.

 

 

This article will tell you how to connect the following Leviton ZigBee devices with the SmartThings Hub:

Note: If you have the Leviton Wireless Load Control Module (73A00-3ZB), follow these instructions here. If you have a Leviton Z-Wave device, follow these instructions for how to connect a Leviton Z-Wave device. Consult the documentation that came with your device if you’re unsure which communication protocol it uses (ZigBee or Z-Wave).

 

  • SmartThings app
  • SmartThings Classic app

Connect the Leviton ZigBee switch in the SmartThings app

In the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Add device
  2. Select Leviton and touch Switch/dimmer, then select Leviton ZigBee
  3. Choose a Hub for the device and touch Next
  4. Choose a Room for the device and touch Next
  5. While the Hub searches:
    • For in-wall Lumina ZSS models
      1. Hold the bottom of the dimmer for 10 seconds
      2. Release the dimmer when the LED is blinks amber
      3. Hold the bottom of the dimmer for 5 seconds
    • For in-wall Lumina DL models
      1. Hold the top of the dimmer for seven (7) seconds
      2. Release the dimmer when the LED turns amber
      3. Press up on the switch once
    • For outlets or plug-in modules
      1. Hold the button for 7 seconds
      2. Release the button when the LED blinks amber
      3. Press the button once

To reset the Leviton ZigBee switch

If the Leviton ZigBee switch is not performing as expected, you may need to reset the device and/or remove and reconnect the device with the SmartThings Hub.

For in-wall Lumina ZSS models

  1. Hold the bottom of the dimmer for 10 seconds
  2. Release the dimmer when the LED is blinks amber
  3. Hold the bottom of the dimmer for 5 seconds
  4. Release the dimmer when the LED is blinking green

For in-wall Lumina DL models

  1. Hold the top of the dimmer for 14 seconds
  2. Release the dimmer when the LED blinks red and amber

For outlets or plug-in modules

  1. Hold the top of the dimmer for 14 seconds
  2. Release the dimmer when the LED blinks red and amber

 

Once reset, the Leviton ZigBee switch is then ready to be connected with the SmartThings Hub. Follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Leviton ZigBee switch. For technical specifications and product details, visit our Works With SmartThings page here.

 

Connect the Leviton ZigBee switch in the SmartThings Classic app

In the SmartThings Classic mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. While the Hub searches:
    • For in-wall Lumina ZSS models
      1. Hold the bottom of the dimmer for 10 seconds
      2. Release the dimmer when the LED is blinks amber
      3. Hold the bottom of the dimmer for 5 seconds
    • For in-wall Lumina DL models
      1. Hold the top of the dimmer for seven (7) seconds
      2. Release the dimmer when the LED turns amber
      3. Press up on the switch once
    • For outlets or plug-in modules
      1. Hold the button for 7 seconds
      2. Release the button when the LED blinks amber
      3. Press the button once

To reset the Leviton ZigBee switch
