SkyBell HD Video Doorbell

The SkyBell HD Video Doorbell allows you to instantly view who is at your door, whether you’re home or away! When someone rings your doorbell, SmartThings can send you a notification. Video through SkyBell is not yet available in the SmartThings app, but by tapping the video tile in the SmartThings app, you can trigger video to start recording in the SkyBell app. Enable the motion sensor in the SkyBell app before adding the SkyBell to SmartThings to monitor motion outside of your home and trigger automations, as well!

Your indoor and outdoor chimes can be muted and unmuted in the SmartThings app to your preference. You can also set the doorbell button to trigger your lights and other actions within SmartThings. The SkyBell HD Video Doorbell brings you great options for automation, security, and peace of mind.

Connect the SkyBell HD Video Doorbell with the SmartThings Hub

 

1. Set up a SkyBell HD account

Download and install the SkyBell HD app for iOS or Android, and then create a SkyBell HD account.

 

2. Install the SkyBell HD Video Doorbell

Follow the SkyBell HD Video Doorbell user’s guide to install the doorbell and connect it to Wi-Fi.

 

3. Connect the SkyBell HD Video Doorbell through the SmartThings app

In the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Under Things, tap Doorbells
  3. Tap SkyBell HD Video Doorbell
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. Tap the field that says Click to connect your SkyBell account
  6. Log in to your SkyBell HD account
  7. Tap Done
  8. Tap Devices to choose your SkyBell devices
  9. Select the doorbell(s) you wish to connect with SmartThings
  10. Tap Done
  11. Tap Done again to complete setup

 

Connect additional SkyBell HD Video Doorbells

Tip: If you previously connected a SkyBell HD Video Doorbell with SmartThings and later install another doorbell, follow these steps to set up the new doorbell with SmartThings:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Under Things, tap Doorbells
  3. Tap SkyBell HD Video Doorbell
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. Tap Devices to choose your SkyBell devices
    Note: You will see the name of your previously connected doorbell
  6. Select the new doorbell(s) you wish to connect with SmartThings
  7. Tap Done
  8. Tap Done again to complete setup

 

Use and configure the SkyBell HD Video Doorbell within SmartThings

Access your doorbell from the Things view within the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the device

 

You can also automate your SkyBell HD Video Doorbell with SmartApps. To install related SmartApps:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap Lights & Switches to install “Smart Lights” or More to install “Button Controller”
  4. Choose the SmartApp and follow its on-screen installation instructions

 

Remove the SkyBell HD Video Doorbell from SmartThings

If the SkyBell HD Doorbell is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove and reconnect the device in order for it to successfully integrate with your SmartThings setup.

To remove the device from the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the doorbell
  4. Tap the gear icon
  5. Tap Edit Device
  6. Tap Remove
  7. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)

 

SkyBell (Connect) SmartApp

The SkyBell (Connect) SmartApp will automatically appear in the SmartApps screen after successful connection of a SkyBell device. To access the SmartApp:

  1. Tap Automations
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap SkyBell (Connect)

 

To remove the SkyBell (Connect) SmartApp and disconnect your SkyBell doorbell(s):

  1. Tap Automations
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap SkyBell (Connect)
  4. Tap Remove
  5. Confirm removal
