iHome SmartPlug

The iHome SmartPlugs are Wi-Fi enabled plugs that allow you to control lamps, small appliances, electronics, and more! Automate your iHome SmartPlug to your preference with SmartThings. The iHome SmartPlug also responds to Siri voice commands given on a device using iOS 8 or higher.

Connect the iHome SmartPlug in the SmartThings app

 

1. Set up an iHome Control account

Download and install the iHome Control app for iOS or Android and then create an iHome Control account.

 

2. Install the iHome SmartPlug

Follow the iHome SmartPlug Quick Start Guide to install the plug and connect it to Wi-Fi.

 

3. Connect the iHome SmartPlug through the SmartThings app

In the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap Add device
  2. Android: Tap Add Device Manually
  3. Select Outlet
  4. Tap iHome
  5. Tap Connect your iHome Account
  6. Tap the field that says Connect your iHome account
  7. Enter your iHome Control credentials (username and password)
  8. Tap Login
  9. Grant SmartThings permission to access your iHome Control devices by tapping Authorize
  10. Tap Done
  11. Tap Done again to complete setup

 

Connect additional iHome SmartPlugs

If you previously connected an iHome SmartPlug with SmartThings and later install another plug, SmartThings will automatically pull your new device from your iHome account.

To add additional iHome SmartPlugs to SmartThings after initial setup, use the official iHome app.

 

Use and configure the iHome SmartPlug within SmartThings

Access your plug from the Devices view within the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap Devices
  2. Tap the device

Remove the iHome SmartPlug from SmartThings

If the iHome SmartPlug is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove and reconnect the device in order for it to successfully integrate with your SmartThings setup.

To remove the device from the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. From the Dashboard, tap on the Devices tab
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right
  3. Tap Edit
  4. Tap the red minus icon (-) next to the name of the device
  5. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)

Connect the iHome SmartPlug in the SmartThings Classic app

 

1. Set up an iHome Control account

Download and install the iHome Control app for iOS or Android and then create an iHome Control account.

 

2. Install the iHome SmartPlug

Follow the iHome SmartPlug Quick Start Guide to install the plug and connect it to Wi-Fi.

 

3. Connect the iHome SmartPlug through the SmartThings Classic app

In the SmartThings Classic mobile app:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Under Things, tap Outlets
  3. Select your iHome SmartPlug
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. Tap the field that says Connect your iHome account
  6. Enter your iHome Control credentials (username and password)
  7. Tap Login
  8. Grant SmartThings permission to access your iHome Control devices by tapping Authorize
  9. Tap Done
  10. Toggle the Connect all option on OR tap Add devices to choose individual iHome SmartPlugs
    • If choosing individual iHome SmartPlugs, select the device(s) you wish to connect with SmartThings and tap Done
  11. Tap Done to complete setup

 

Connect additional iHome SmartPlugs

Tip: If you previously connected an iHome SmartPlug with SmartThings and later install another plug, follow these steps to set up the new plug with SmartThings Classic:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Under Things, tap Outlets
  3. Select your iHome SmartPlug
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. Leave Connect all toggled on OR Tap Add devices to choose your iHome Control devices. Note: You will see the name of your previously connected plug if you previously used this method
    • If choosing individual new iHome SmartPlugs, select the new device(s) you wish to connect with SmartThings and tap Done
  6. Tap Done to complete setup

 

Use and configure the iHome SmartPlug within SmartThings Classic

Access your plug from the Things view within the SmartThings Classic mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the device

 

You can also automate your iHome SmartPlug with SmartApps. To install related SmartApps:

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap Lights & Switches
  4. Choose the SmartApp and follow its on-screen installation instructions

 

Remove the iHome SmartPlug from SmartThings Classic

If the iHome SmartPlug is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove and reconnect the device in order for it to successfully integrate with your SmartThings setup.

To remove the device from the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Tap the device
  4. Tap the gear icon
  5. Tap Edit Device
  6. Tap Remove
  7. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)

 

iHome Control (Connect) SmartApp

The iHome Control (Connect) SmartApp will automatically appear in the SmartApps screen after successful connection of an iHome Control device. To access the SmartApp:

  1. Tap Automation
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap iHome Control (Connect)

 

To remove the iHome Control (Connect) SmartApp and disconnect all of your iHome SmartPlug(s):

  1. Tap Automation
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap iHome Control (Connect)
  4. Tap Remove
  5. Confirm removal
