Waxman leakSmart Valve

With connected water sensors and the Waxman leakSmart Valve, you can put your mind at ease. When any of your water leak sensors get wet, SmartThings will tell the Waxman leakSmart Valve to shut off the water valve to protect your home.

Note: The Waxman leakSmart Valve is not an officially supported Works with SmartThings device. You can connect it to your SmartThings Classic setup, but performance may vary and we will not be able to provide support or assistance.

 

 

To connect the Waxman leakSmart Valve with the SmartThings Hub

 

First, install the Waxman leakSmart Valve with the instructions in the Installation and Operating Manual.

 

Next, in the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. While the Hub searches, press the middle button on the valve to enter inclusion mode
    The indicator will double blink blue while pairing
  5. When the device is discovered, it will be listed at the top of the screen
  6. Tap the device to rename it and tap Done
  7. When finished, tap Save
  8. Tap Ok to confirm

 

To reset the Waxman leakSmart Valve

If the Waxman leakSmart Valve was not discovered, you may need to reset the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do this:

  1. Quickly press the middle button on the valve 5 times

After the device is successfully reset:

  1. From the SmartThings Classic app, tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. The Hub should then automatically discover the valve, as long as the valve is powered and its LED is double blinking blue
    If the LED is not double blinking blue, press the middle button on the valve once
  5. When the device is discovered, it will be listed at the top of the screen
  6. Tap the device to rename it and tap Done
  7. When finished, tap Save
  8. Tap Ok to confirm

 

To remove the Waxman leakSmart Valve from SmartThings

If the Waxman leakSmart Valve is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Select the device
  4. Tap the gear icon
  5. Tap Remove
  6. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)
