Which SmartThings Water Leak Sensor do I have?

Here are a couple of tips to learn which model of the SmartThings Water Leak Sensor you have.

 

SmartThings Water Leak Sensor

  • The SmartThings Water Leak Sensor has a sticker on the back with the following product information: "SmartThings Water Leak Sensor M/N: IM6001-WLP01"
  • Has a "Connect" button on the back of the device.
  • Has two metal leads on the top and the bottom of the sensor for dual-sided water leak detection.
  • Has a CR2 battery.
  • Manual: SmartThings Water Leak Sensor

SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (2016 model)

 

  • The SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (2016 model) has a sticker on the back with the following product information: Samsung SmartThings Water Leak Sensor M/N: STS-WTR-250.
  • Has a "Connect" button beneath the front cover, located next to the battery compartment.
  • Is water resistant, and should not be completely submerged in water.

SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (2015 model)

 

  • The SmartThings Moisture Sensor (2015 model) has no sticker on the back.
  • Has a "Connect" button beneath the front cover, located next to the battery compartment.
  • Is water resistant, and should not be completely submerged in water.

SmartSense Moisture Sensor (2014 model)

The SmartSense Moisture Sensor (2014 model) has the same look, functions, capabilities, and reset process as the SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (2015 model).

SmartSense Moisture Sensor (original model)

  • The SmartSense Moisture Sensor (original model) is a Z-Wave enabled device. All other SmartThings moisture sensors are ZigBee devices.
  • Is larger than all other SmartThings moisture sensor models.
  • Was made by Fortrezz and has the same look, functions, capabilities, and reset process as the Fortrezz Moisture Sensor.
  • Is water resistant, and should not be completely submerged in water.

SmartSense Temperature/Humidity Sensor

Does your device look like this?

  • The SmartSense Temperature/Humidity Sensor has a small thermometer icon on the face of the device, instead of a water drop.
  • Detects temperature and humidity only. It does not have contact sensors to detect water like the moisture sensors above.
