Which SmartThings water leak sensor do I have?

The latest Samsung SmartThings Water Leak Sensor model is very similar in appearance to the Samsung SmartThings Water Leak (2015 model). Here are a couple of tips to learn which model you have!

  • The Samsung SmartThings Water Leak Sensor has a sticker on the back with the following product information: Samsung SmartThings Water Leak Sensor M/N: STS-WTR-250.

Samsung SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (2015 model)

 

  • The Samsung SmartThings Moisture Sensor (2015 model) has no sticker on the back.

SmartSense Moisture Sensor (2014 model)

The SmartSense Moisture Sensor (2014 model) has the same look, functions, capabilities, and reset process as the Samsung SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (2015 model).

SmartSense Moisture Sensor (original model)

  • The SmartSense Moisture Sensor (original model) is a Z-Wave enabled device. All other SmartThings moisture sensors are ZigBee devices.
  • It is larger than all other SmartThings moisture sensor models.
  • It was made by Fortrezz and has the same look, functions, capabilities, and reset process as the Fortrezz Moisture Sensor.

SmartSense Temperature/Humidity Sensor

Does your device look like this?

  • The SmartSense Temperature/Humidity Sensor has a small thermometer icon on the face of the device, instead of a water drop.
  • It detects temperature and humidity only. It does not have contact sensors to detect water like the moisture sensors above.
