How do I change the Wi-Fi network that my SmartThings Hub is connected to?

You can change the Wi-Fi network that the SmartThings Hub is connected to in the SmartThings app. You can also connect the Hub via Wi-Fi after setting it up via Ethernet. This will not affect any devices connected to the Hub, and does not require a factory reset.

In the SmartThings app:

  1. Touch Menu (Menu icon)
  2. Touch Settings
  3. Touch Update Wi-Fi Information
  4. Select your SmartThings Hub, then tap Update
  5. Using a pin or a similar tool, press and hold the red, recessed button on the back of the Hub until the LED begins blinking red/green
  6. Touch Next
  7. Using your mobile device's camera, scan the QR code located on the back of the Hub or enter the serial number manually
  8. Select your Wi-Fi network
  9. Enter your Wi-Fi network's password, then tap Connect
  10. Once the Hub is connected, tap Done
