Danalock V3

The Danalock V3 is a smart lock that can be combined with SmartThings to lock and unlock your door remotely, and automatically, when people come and go from your home. Danalock V3 comes in Zigbee and Z-Wave models, both of which can connect to your SmartThings Hub. Operate the lock not only with SmartThings, but also BLE. This means you can operate the Danalock even without internet connection.

To connect the Danalock V3 with the SmartThings Hub

1. Configure the lock via the Danalock app

Download the Danalock app for iOS or Android to fully configure your Danalock V3 and its settings. The lock may not perform as expected via SmartThings if it is not configured.

 

2. Connect the lock with the SmartThings Hub via the SmartThings app

In the SmartThings app:

  1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Add device
  2. Select Danalock, touch Lock, and then Danalock Z-Wave or Danalock Zigbee
  3. Choose a Hub for the device and touch Next
  4. Choose a Room for the device and touch Next
  5. Using a paperclip or a small tool, press and release the recessed button next to the LED on the lock
  6. When the device is discovered, a message will appear that the device was successfully connected to your SmartThings Hub
  7. Tap Rename to rename the device
  8. When finished, tap Done
  9. Tap Done again to confirm

 

To factory reset the Danalock V3 (Zigbee)

If the Danalock V3 was not discovered, you may need to reset the device to factory settings:

  1. Using a paperclip or a small tool, press and release the recessed button next to the LED on the lock 10 times
  2. When the LED blinks red, the device has successfully been reset

After the device has been reset, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Danalock V3.

 

To exclude the Danalock V3 (Z-Wave)

If the Danalock V3 (Z-Wave) was not discovered, you may need to reset, or “exclude,” the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do this, in the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Menu (Menu icon), and select Devices
  2. Touch the Hub and select More Options (More Options menu icon)
  3. Touch Z-Wave utilities and select Z-Wave exclusion
  4. Press the button three (3) times
  5. Using a paperclip or a small tool, press and release the recessed button next to the LED on the lock

After the app indicates that the device was successfully removed from SmartThings, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Danalock V3.

To connect the Danalock V3 with the SmartThings Hub

2. Connect the lock with the SmartThings Hub via the SmartThings Classic app

In the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Under Things, tap Add a Thing at the bottom of your Things list
  3. The app will say Looking for devices…
  4. Using a paperclip or a small tool, press and release the recessed button next to the LED on the lock
  5. When the device is discovered, it will be listed at the top of the screen
  6. Tap the device to rename it and tap Done
  7. When finished, tap Save
  8. Tap Ok to confirm

 

To factory reset the Danalock V3 (Zigbee)

If the Danalock V3 was not discovered, you may need to reset the device to factory settings:

  1. Using a paperclip or a small tool, press and release the recessed button next to the LED on the lock 10 times
  2. When the LED blinks red, the device has successfully been reset

After the device has been reset, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Danalock V3.

 

To exclude the Danalock V3

If the Danalock Circle was not discovered, you may need to reset, or “exclude,” the device before it can successfully connect with the SmartThings Hub. To do this, in the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap the menu (Android) / More (iOS)
  2. Tap the Hub
  3. Tap Z-Wave Utilities
  4. Tap General Device Exclusion
  5. When prompted, using a paperclip or a small tool, press and release the recessed button next to the LED on the lock

After the app indicates that the device was successfully removed from SmartThings, follow the first set of instructions above to connect the Danalock V3.

 

To remove the Danalock V3 from the SmartThings Classic app

If the Danalock V3 is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings Classic app:

  1. Tap My Home
  2. Tap Things
  3. Select the device
  4. Tap the gear icon
  5. Tap Remove
  6. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)
